JOMO Won Hertfordshire Start Up of the Year 2023
The Start-Up Awards receive around 5,000 applicants every year from new businesses across the UK. And this year JOMO won an award!
JOMO was nominated as a finalist in not one, but three different categories which is a huge achievement of its own. But we actually won the category Hertfordshire Start-Up of 2023!
This was a huge moment for JOMO. We are so proud of everything we have been able to achieve with the help of our partners and members.
What Are the Start-Up Awards?
But what actually are the Start-Up Awards? Well, this is an initiative that has been founded by the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the Wales Start-Up Awards.
As the website says, they aim to recognise “the achievements of those amazing individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service.”
The Start-Up Awards are split into different geographical regions and categories. Each category and region's applicants are judged by a panel of judges. Ultimately the judges, who consist of some of the UK’s top entrepreneurs, choose the winner of each award.
Who Were JOMO Up Against?
JOMO were finalists in three categories:
Young Entrepreneur Start-Up of the Year
Online Retail Start-Up of the Year
Hertfordshire Start-Up of the Year.
In the Hertfordshire category, we were against tough competition such as UNLTD, an alcohol-free beer company. But in the end, this year, JOMO won the Hertfordshire Start-Up of the Year.

Winning this award means a lot to the JOMO team. We are a small, women-led team and work incredibly hard to provide the service and product that we do. So it is always incredibly gratifying when this is recognised and rewarded.
But obviously, we can’t win awards without our incredible club members and partnerships supporting us, giving us feedback, and talking so positively about us.
