Celebrating you this Christmas with a glass of alcohol-free sparkling

We have all repeatedly heard ‘where can I find a good alcohol-free wine?’ Initially, we didn’t have the answer. Many were sweet and they lacked the complexity and substance one looks for in a wine.

Everyone kept asking and we were desperate to find the answer and solution. That is, after all, what we are here for.

One day, we were attending a No/Low exhibition and one stand caught our eye. We walked over and heard more about them while they lifted a beautiful ice-cold bottle that was chilling in a champagne bucket filled with ice. We took a sip and we knew we’d found the answer there and then. It had more than a hint of sweetness for our palate but was crisp and refreshing - just like champagne. We then realised we had found our Noughty maker and with our special recipe, we could picture our perfect bottle in our minds.

For an official introduction, we bring to you, Noughty Brut - an organic, vegan, alcohol-free sparkling Chardonnay. With just 2.9g of sugar per 100ml, it has almost half the sugar content of other non-alcoholic sparkling wines and with just 14 calories per glass, it is the perfect drink to celebrate in style with during the festive period.

Whether you would like the Classic, the Rosé or ideally both, to see you through all occasions, you’re going to feel super special popping the cork on your Noughty.

So, how have Thomson & Scott’s Noughty cracked it?

When you dealcohlise wine, sugar is added replacing the alcohol. Noughty Brut is made from 100% organic chardonnay grapes with no additional flavourings. It’s a very delicate process to get the balance just right.

CEO and Founder, Amanda Thomson was raised on a plant-based, no sugar diet with a health-conscious mother. Amanda has always been interested in knowing what goes into food and checking labels. ‘I realised that so many of us now are obsessed with eating a healthy diet… but not our wine...!’ Amanda tells JOMO. ‘I’ve always wanted us to be transparent as a brand in providing full nutrition labels on our bottles and I want to encourage the wider industry to catch up.’

How should you serve Noughty this Christmas?

Well of course sparkling alcohol-free chardonnay in a flute is absolutely perfect. If you would like to get a little creative, however, there are some fabulous cocktails using Noughty as the base too!

A few of our favourites include…

The Blackberry Festive Fizz

2 Tablespoons seedless blackberry jam

2 Teaspoons vanilla simple syrup

Noughty Chardonnay

Garnish - fresh blackberries

Method: In a cocktail shaker stir together the jam and vanilla syrup until well mixed. Add ice and shake well!

Strain the mixture evenly in two champagne flutes and top with Noughty.

Garnish with blackberries and serve immediately!

The Grapefruit Sparkle

25ml alcohol-free spirit (clear) A squeeze of lemon

15ml Grapefruit syrup

Noughty Sparkling Chardonnay

Method: Add the grapefruit, spirit and lemon in a shaker over ice and shake well.

Pour into a champagne flute and top with Noughty. Garnish with grapefruit wedges.

What else are Noughty doing other than tasting great?
