Where to drink when you’re not drinking - and be really looked after.

We’ve all looked through a menu with the options of a sparkling water or sugary drink * eye roll. * Delicious food, paired with a cola, it just doesn’t feel right.

But when you arrive at a restaurant or bar with a number of choices that stand out strong against an alcoholic menu - well that’s when we are happy! We are intrigued to see the spirits used, the ingredients paired, the complexity level and we are just quite excited to see some choices.

So where in the UK are making real efforts on an alcohol-free menu? We are pleased to see them popping up around the country showing the industry is taking consumer requirements seriously.

Here are a few of our favourites to check out:

  • Radio Rooftop, London: They have two cocktails on their menu made by their mixologists. Sat on their rooftop looking over London, the venue is just as special as the cocktail created.

    • Collins Drop: tonic water - coconut water - mint - hazelnut

    • Herbal Ambition: oto cbd bitters - seedlip garden - everleaf non alcoholic aperitive elderflower cordial - soda

  • The Connaught Bar, London: Cocktails made with as much love as the Martinis they’re famous for.

    • Wine for Soul - The angels have had their share of our spirits over the years. Devil-red and with a touch of pepper heat, this non-alcoholic cocktail looks anything but saintly. Three spirits, Evaporated Martini Ambrato with Verbena Berries, Black cardamom syrup, Riesling verjus, soda water.

  • Square Root Soda Bar, London: Square Root have fruit-packed sodas, colas as well as alcohol-free cocktails and G&T’s. They are located at the Kerb’s Seven Dials Market for you to enjoy their drinks in a relaxed setting.

  • Redemption, London: This 100% vegan restaurant has a beautiful cocktail menu to pair with its dishes. Along with Karma and Merchant’s Hart drinks, there are four cocktails to choose from.

    • Cucumbertini: Seedlip 108, fresh cucumber, lemon verbena syrup, fresh lemon juice

    • Pineapple mockjito: pineapple, fresh mint and lime topped with ginger ale

    • Black magic: activated charcoal, lemon juice, maple syrup, vanilla paste, Borrago 47 Paloma, coconut water, aquafaba

    • Hibiscus sour: three spirit Social Elixir, aquafaba, lemon juice, coconut syrup, hibiscus tea

As it’s currently Friday and until we make it into the City, we’re off to make some of these at home as they look delicious. As always, if you would like some at home support, we have you covered - you can subscribe to JOMO today and we will inspire you each month.

We would love to see your at home creations and hear about your favourite UK alcohol-free drinking spots. Write in to gemmamills@jomoclub.co.uk or through the contact us page.
