The perfect Veganuary snacks to feed your feel good
In 2021, more than half a million people tried Veganuary, with 825 new vegan products and menus launched for the month.
Veganuary has been a fantastic way to boost awareness around vegan food and trying the lifestyle for a month, however there is a significant number of people in the UK turning to a plant based diet all year round with more than 13 million British adults currently following a meat-free diet - that’s a 40% increase over the past 12 months.
With a significant increase in plant-based diets, brings a new wave of incredibly wonderful plant based snacks. *In slides OLLY’S * Hot off the pretz, simply the zest! With their range of olives and pretzels, OLLY’S are creating flavours we didn’t even know could be created.
We are talking Smoky Barbecue, Multi-Seed Sesame, Sweet Chilli, Sour Cream and Onion, Oh So Cheesy on the savoury side and White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate on the sweet side. For olives we have Garlic & Basil, Lemon & Thyme and Chilli & Rosemary.
OLLY’S launched back in 2015 with..well..Olly. Olly wanted to rejuvenate the world of olives with new and exciting flavours and began experimenting with flavours in his kitchen and selling them at farmers markets. People loved them and Olly loved them too so he decided to pivot away from becoming a doctor and focus on olives.
When the dreaded COVID hit and it hit pause on a number of OLLY’S stockists, they decided to ‘just launch more snacks’. Across the 18 months their range grew from 3 to 14 with the birth of nut mixers, pretzel thins and chocolate covered pretzel thins!
To celebrate Veganuary, the January JOMO Box had both the Lemon & Thyme Olives and the Multi-Seed Sesame Pretzel Thins. If the flavours alone haven’t got your appetite going let us go one step further, the Lemon & Thyme Olives are glorious Greek olives dressed to impress in a zesty Lemon & Thyme marinade. The multi-seed sesame pretzel thins are oven-baked and a brilliant healthy crisp alternative with up to 80% less flat and 45% fewer calories than standard crisps. Both vegan, both outrageously delicious.
We asked OLLY’S how they feel snacking behaviours have changed over the past couple of years. ‘There’s definitely been a big shift towards healthier snacking, with Veganism also being a big driver within our cultural shift. We of course keep health at the heart of every snack we create, but we always want to deliver a full flavour snack experience that really gets those tastebuds singing and dancing’.
For those who are all about the sweet and salty combo, OLLY’S have a range of Chocolate Pretzel Thins, Milk Chocolate, Vegan Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate! They are 125 calories per portion and a healthy indulgence to give you something sweet following the holidays. Come on, we can’t go cold turkey.
OLLY’S snacks taste good. They look good. They feel good. They also give back. “We use only natural ingredients and are constantly striving for sustainable solutions for all processes within the business. We also work closely with our charity partner, One Feeds Two, to provide school meals to children in underprivileged parts of the world. We want to feed the planet’s feel good’.
