Penny’s top picks for alcohol-free wines

The top three red, white and sparkling wines, as voted by one of our members

Two years ago, one of our members Penny Sharland made the decision to step away from alcohol forever. Penny spoke to JOMO Club for the August magazine - make sure you catch the full piece in there as her journey is truly inspiring.

“Being alcohol-free gives me a sense of freedom I never knew existed, it makes me sleep better, it makes me feel calmer, it makes me a nicer person, it makes me present in my life.

Making the choice to be alcohol-free is the most important step I have ever taken for my mental and my physical health. It is the greatest gift I have ever given myself. Turns out, the happy ever after I was searching for all my life was the relationship with ME, not anyone else.

I still have a glass of wine every night, sometimes two or three but always 0% alcohol. One day I hope to see alcohol-free wines on all restaurant menus. What I love about wines is the occasion and the beautiful glasses. For my first year sober anniversary, my two girls totally spoilt me with a tea party. Their pride in me keeps me going, and so does my self pride now.”

Penny celebrated her two year sober anniversary this month.
