As the sun periodically shone over the UK, more people turned to what we know best, here in the UK…cocktails in the sunshine. With more people looking to cut back on or cut out alcohol however, more people turned to alcohol-free cocktails than ever before. With JOMO Club at the forefront of alcohol free cocktail discovery, we were here for each and every one of them!

So, as June’s brand spanking new non-alcoholic discovery box landed, let’s take a look inside.

Coastal Spritz

Pentire has grown in popularity hugely over the past few years with the likes of Soho House and Malibu serving them all year round. With a focus on natural, coastal ingredients, low sugar and a drive toward active, healthy living and rituals, Pentire’s range is not only one of the trendiest non-alc drinks ranges on the market, but also lives up to its brand with its flavour. This month showcases Pentire’s Coastal Spritz - a bittersweet non-alcoholic citrus aperitif, much like Campari to use as a spritz or in a Negroni.

Artisan offer an incredible unique selection of mixers that complement non-alc drinks instead of overpowering them. Today we have a classic mixer and a perfect pairing for this months’ spirit to create a non-alc spritz of dreams, the Light Tonic. Low in sugars, delicate and light. 

REAL Drinks 

Can of Dry Dragon

A beautiful sparkling white alternative, made using pan-fired Dragonwell green tea. This results in a zesty, light bodied, fragrant and fresh sparkling. Pairing perfectly with green vegetables, shellfish and Pan-Asian dishes.

Pulp Cider

Nothing speaks to Summer in the UK than a craft apple cider. A sophisticated, lightly carbonated cider created using home-grown, fresh pressed cider apples. 

Caleño Drinks 

Small Bottle of Light & Zesty 

Created by the excellent Ellie Webb, Caleño help people discover the joy of not drinking. With a focus on tropical non-alcoholic spirits, this JOMO Club discovery box showcased a small bottle of their non-alc spirit, Light & Zesty for JOMO members to try out. Light & Zesty brings pineapple, lemon peel, juniper and Colombian Inca Berry together to form a gorgeously refreshing, fun spirit that is wonderful with tonic. 

DEUKES 

Pouch of Honey

If you think you know a lot about honey, take a look at DEUKES and how complex the honey industry truly is. We included a pouch of one of DEUKES’ honey’s to sweeten cocktails naturally or to use with a cheeseboard or over salads in the garden with your Spritz. DEUKES is a raw monofloral honey made by bees from the nectar of single flower species. This means that each honey has a distinctive flavour unlike many supermarket honeys that mostly taste the same as all the honey is combined together - contaminated in a way.

Feragaia 

Ready To Drink Feragaia & Tonic

Being Scotland’s first distilled alcohol free spirit, Feragaia is an all natural non-alc spirit created from the inspiration of Fife’s natural landscape. Here at JOMO we find it can be used in gin cocktails, tequila cocktails and even whiskey cocktails. It is a non-alc spirit like no other and incredibly versatile for all you spirit lovers out there. 

This month we included one of Feragaia’s ready to drink cocktails, the Feragaia & Tonic. Using a double measure of Feragaia’s non-alc spirit and a premium tonic to be able to enjoy on the go or for when you have no mixers in the house. This ready to drink does all the hard work for you. 

MONIN 

Orange Spritz Syrup

Syrup and sugary ‘mocktails’ get a bad rep. We can see why. ‘Mocktails’ used to be full of sugar, juice and not much else. It was a children’s drink, not a sophisticated adult sipping experience. Nowadays things are very different. We have a whole host of sophisticated non-alcoholic spirits, mixers and serving ideas too. When, here at JOMO Club, we made the decision to use a syrup in the June JOMO Box, it was very calculated and here is why. The Orange Spritz syrup we included for June combined juicy, sour orange with bitterness to balance the sweetness out. It is made with natural orange and vanilla extract ensuring it isn’t overly sweet. We included this so a dash could be added to Pentire’s Coastal Spritz. The Coastal Spritz is a bitter spirit and super low in sugar. For some, the bitterness needs to be lifted slightly and this can be done with a splash for the MONIN. This doesn’t result in a sweet, syrupy cocktail, it results in a well balanced cocktail for all taste buds.

Dodoni 

Bag of Cheese Thins

These greek baked, gluten free thins are the best snack to enjoy during picnics this Summer and with the June JOMO Cocktail of the month. Spritz o’clock must be paired with a crunchy cheese snack. All natural and a great source of protein too.

Soul Fruit 

Bag of Jack Fruit 

Soul Fruit wanted to create a snack that kept fruit in its whole form with all the nutrients nature intended to have. A snack full of soul shall we say. No added sugars and no artificial ingredients at all. This month we showcased one of Soul Fruit’s best selling snacks, the jack fruit. Our favourite thing about jackfruit is you can enjoy right out the back or you can dunk in your favourite dips such as guac or hummus. These fresh jackfruits are gently freeze-dried to produce a natural snacks full of fibre and nutrients.

To guide JOMO members through the wonderful June JOMO box, inside included a 20 page printed members magazine which included recipes of the months’ drinks, behind the brand interviews and of course a real life journey.
