JOMO’s Favourite Alcohol-Free Gin Drinks

There has been a huge boom in gin drinking in the last few years. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that alcohol-free gin is one of the most searched for alcohol-free spirits. And the good news is that the alcohol-free gin market has a huge range of different, delicious gin-ish replacements. So even as a mindful drinker or sober curious person, you never need to do without a delicious gin and tonic.

But how can you know if the alcohol-free gin you’ve picked is a good one? Well, we can help you out here with some of our very favourite alcohol-free gin or gin-like drinks.

Atopia Spirits

Before ever tasting an Atopia Spirit you know that it will taste good because it has been created by Lesley Grace, an award-winning, master distiller from Hendrick’s Gin.

Lesley Gracie’s philosophy is that just because you are sober doesn’t mean you should have to do without delicious, subtle and full-flavoured drinks. And you can taste that philosophy in Atopia Spirits.

Atopia Spirits are gin-like non-alcoholic spirits that currently come in three different flavours. These flavours are Atopia rhubarb and ginger, Atopia hedgerow berry and Atopia spiced citrus. Each spirit has a unique and distinct flavour profile. That makes these gin-like spirits so perfect for a refreshing alcohol-free gin and tonic at the end of a long day.

Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Gin

Lyre’s was founded in 2019. They have very quickly sprung to the forefront of the alcohol-free drinks market due to their wide range of well-made and delicious alcohol-free spirits. And their gin collection is no different.

Lyre’s offers two different non-alcoholic gins. The first is their Dry London Spirit which is the non-alcoholic version of a typical dry London gin. That means that it has a strong Juniper flavour, with earthy, citrussy qualities and a dry finish.

In contrast to this Lyre’s also sell the non-alcoholic Lyre’s Pink London Spirit. Whilst this also qualifies as a London gin, it has a more floral and fruity flavour profile. Containing rose, rosehip, cherry, red berry and blackberry amongst other fruits, this is a sweeter, richer flavour profile. It still has a strong juniper presence to make it feel like a pink gin.

New London Light First Light

Salcombe Gin’s first foray into non-alcoholic Spirits is the First Light Spirit. This forms one of their New London Light collection of alcohol-free spirits, currently including two other non-alcoholic aperitifs.

First Light is their version of a non-alcoholic gin and is fully 0.0% ABV. It is a non-alcoholic dry London gin with a delicious flavour profile. The depth of flavour in this drink comes from a mix of ginger, habanero, and orange mixed with the classic juniper for the gin flavour.

First Light has actually been so successful that it is an award-winning non-alcoholic gin, having won the 2021 People’s Choice Spirits Award for “Mindful drinking” and the 2021 Beverage Testing Institute Gold award for “Conscious spirits”.

Pentire Spirits

Pentire, a Cornish company, was founded on a love for the Cornish coast and this shines through in all of their drinks. They offer an interesting range of non-alcoholic Spirits, including a non-alcoholic Spritz.

Two of their Spirits could be considered Gin-like spirits. Unlike the others so far in this list, these are not dry London gins but have a more modern flavour profile.

The first of these drinks is Pentire Adrift. They make this using natural botanicals from the Cornish coast which give it a herbaceous flavour profile. The ingredients in this drink are Rock Samphire, Sage, Pentire Plant Blend, Citrus and Cornish Sea Salt, and they meld together to make a delicious, refreshing gin-like Spirit.

The second gin-like spirit is Pentire Seaward. This is again made from mostly local, Cornish botanicals and ingredients including Pink Grapefruit, Sea Rosemary, Woodruff, Sea Buckthorn and Wild Seaweed. These combine together to make a zesty and bright flavour profile.

If you are looking for a pre-mixed alcohol-free gin and tonic to take on the go then you are in luck because Pentire offers ready-to-drink mixed Pentire Spirit and tonics in a can. Perfect for a picnic at the beach!

Highball Drinks - Ready to Drink G&T

Highball Drinks create the classic cocktails we all know and love. They are ready to drink meaning no ingredients needed! Along with their Italian Spritz, Cosmo, Ginger Dram and Mojito, they have also curated their G&T range including their Pink G&T and Classic G&T.

Their classic G&T is perfectly crafted with juniper notes and a unique blend of botanicals to deliver a crisp taste with a quinine bite and citrus twist. We have just launched Highball’s G&T in a 550ml bottle on the bottle store for you to enjoy.

More Alcohol-Free Gin-Like Drinks

The above drinks make for a delicious drink. But there are many more, rich and flavourful alcohol-free gin-like drinks out there. A lot of these taste more like a modern, flavoured gin than the classic dry Gin, and as such are not necessarily an exact swap for gin. They still taste delicious when mixed with tonic water and can make for an excellent long, Gin-ish and tonic.

Some alternative non-alcoholic gin-like drinks include:

  • Everleaf Spirits,

  • Caleño Light & Zesty Tropical Non-Alcoholic Gin

  • Coastal Juniper Sea Arch

  • Bax Botanics Spirits

  • Ish Alcohol-Free Gin
