I’m a Summer girl through and through. I won’t deny it. I love holidays, I love sun, I love the long days and I love working outside. BUT, that being said, I love the colours of Autumn. Orange is by far my favourite colour. Whether I am wearing it, decorating with it or drinking it, it brings a smile to my face. 

With more people than ever moderating or abstaining from the booze, Sober October 2023 is going to be bigger and better than ever and we want to ask one thing from you. We want you to tell someone about it, hey why not tell a few people about it. It is a perfect month to just give it a go. Why? Here are my top three reasons: 

1. Press reset. 30 days is the right amount of time to truly see and feel benefits. 30 days is also an adequate timeframe to break habits. This will allow you to understand the role alcohol plays in your life, along with if, why and how you want to change that.

2. Perfect excuse. With Sober October and Dry January increasing in popularity along with it actually now being accepted, it is the perfect social excuse if you’ve been thinking about cutting back on the booze but have found it too awkward.

3. Physical benefits. Glowing skin, better sleep, increased productivity, less brain fog, more time gained, less sugar spikes, decreased anxiety and depression are among a few that may be experienced.

It is fair to say, we were a little harsh when it came to instant coffee. We have a coffee machine at home and we receive fresh, recently bagged beans that we grind for every coffee. But, how our opinions changed when we tried Truestart for the first time. Truestart can be enjoyed in anyway. With foamy milk, black or even iced! The perfect dairy alternative and a great addition to a cocktail. This organic almond milk is blended with rice, pure mountain spring water and a dash of cold pressed sunflower oil to create a smooth alternative! 

Cocktail of the Month: AF Espresso Martini

Add 50ml Dark & Spicy Caleño and 1 and 1/2 tsp Truestart coffee stirred in a shaker until dissolved. Add 120ml of almond drink and ice. Shake hard until frothy. Strain into a coupe and garnish with three coffee beans.
