Often when you go about your day, you assume everyone knows your story and why you do what you do. You are so absorbed in your world that it is easy to forget how to tell your story. Your story around why you started something, what motivates and drives you and where you are looking to take things.

For that reason, I often stop, take a step back and think about my journey and like to share that with our community.

Hi. I am Gemma Mills, Founder of JOMO Club, an award-winning alcohol-free spirit subscription box and the fastest growing in the UK. After myself and Richard found ourselves drinking far too much gin during lockdown we took a toe dip into the world of alcohol-free drinks. We knew of a few but had no idea there was in fact over 500 alcohol-free spirits alone, not to mention the wines, sparkling, beers and adult soft drinks. It was an area that was ever expanding and we started swapping our night-time G&T for an alcohol-free spritz.

We crafted our idea, and it is fair to say, we are no artists. Look at the progression of our box below.

When we found much of our drinking was the ritual and not actually the alcohol content, we wanted to make these drinks more accessible for those who did not drink, could not drink or were interested in reducing their overall intake, just as we did.

It turns out, when you are mindful and aware about what you are drinking..and how much..it has a significant impact on how and what you drink. So, if you are reading this, why not really think every time you have a drink. A few things to perhaps note:

1. When are you drinking? Are you socialising, are you at home looking to unwind, are you celebrating, are you commiserating?

2. Why are you drinking? Are you happy, sad, tired, stressed, do you feel social pressures to do so?

3. What are you drinking? A double, a single, wine..shots?

4. Do you have an end goal? Reduce the stress, help with sleep, to feel included, to get drunk?

5. What is the quantity? One drink. Multiple drinks. Binge drinking?

6. How do you feel when you are drinking? Excitable, confident, sad, anxious, fun?

7. How do you feel the next day? Fresh, hungover, anxious?
