Alcohol-Free Wines for National Wine Day

There is nothing like enjoying a nice glass of wine with a meal or sitting back on a Spring evening sipping wine. And there is no need to miss out just because you don’t drink alcohol!

Alcohol-free wine has come a long way since its origins. It now makes for a delicious and classy drink to enjoy without any of the effects of alcohol!

Does Alcohol-Free Wine Actually Taste Like Wine?

Alcohol-free wine was once known for being overly sweet. This was great if you like sweet wines, but not so good for anyone else. However, that is a thing of the past. Nowadays there are so many different alcohol-free wines available in all colours, both sparkling and still.

A lot of alcohol-free wine is actually made in the same way as wine with alcohol in it. Therefore, even with the alcohol content removed, it shares characteristics such as flavour profile and appearance with alcoholic wine. So if you are looking for an alcohol-free wine that tastes like wine with alcohol, you are in luck!

Our Top Favourite Alcohol-Free Wines

When choosing an alcohol-free wine it's good to know which brands to look out for. So to help you on your way here are some of our favourite alcohol-free wine brands out there.

Noughty Alcohol-Free Wine

Noughty alcohol-free wines are some of the world’s first alcohol-free, organic, vegan, halal, low-sugar sparkling wines available.

The company was founded by Amanda Thomson, who is an expert in wine and qualified for her wine diploma at the famous Cordon Bleu School in Paris. Her passion is healthy but luxurious eating, and she is a strong advocate for greater transparency in the wine industry. You should be able to know exactly what you are putting in your body. So you can be sure that you will know exactly what you are consuming when you enjoy a Noughty alcohol-free wine.

Noughty currently offers five different types of sparkling and still wines:

  • Non-alcoholic blanc

  • Non-alcoholic rosé

  • Non-alcoholic rouge

  • Non-alcoholic sparkling Chardonnay

  • Non-alcoholic sparkling Rosé

All of these are truly delicious and use top-quality grapes. So if you are looking for a high-quality alcohol-free wine you really cannot go wrong with a Noughty alcohol-free wine.

Alt Alcohol-Free Wine

Alt alcohol-free wines were inspired by a dinner between two brothers, Christian and Alex, and their wives who were particularly missing sparkling wine. From one conversation that night they decided to create and launch ALt, an alcohol-free brand specialised in alcohol-free sparkling wines.

Currently, you can purchase an alcohol-free sparkling Chardonnay and an alcohol-free sparkling Rosé. Both of these are made with fully organic ingredients, sourced from farms that promote and maintain healthy soils. They are also both low in sugar and fully vegan.

These alcohol-free sparkling wines are perfect to use in combination with alcohol-free spirits to make delicious, fizzy, mocktails with a sophisticated and adult taste.

JUKES Cordialities

JUKES Cordialities have created a unique wine-like drink made from a base of apple cider vinegar. They aim to make delicious alcohol-free drinks so that you do not have to miss out on a tasty drink just because you don’t drink alcohol.

Each drink in the JUKES Cordialities range has less than 17 calories and less than 3.5g of natural sugar per 100 ml. They also all contain about one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and are gluten-free, vegan and halal.

JUKES has a large range of different drinks with different flavour profiles. You can choose from:

  • JUKES 1 - The Classic White. This is a citrus and herbal-flavoured drink with a hint of peach blossom and pineapple husk.

  • JUKES 2 - The Bright Red. This is based on light red wines and has a flavour built on a combination of red berries and smoke.

  • JUKES 5 - The Crisp White. This is described as a citrus and fresh-flavoured alcohol-free wine and has a mix of ingredients like gooseberry and grapefruit along with more floral flavours.

  • JUKES 6 - The Dark Red. Based on a deeper red wine, this alcohol-free red wine is considered to be fruity, spicy and deep, and has many layers of complexity.

  • JUKES 8 - The Sparkling Rosé. This is described as a perfumed, delicate and refreshingly crisp drink and has a mixture of ingredients such as watermelon and raspberry.

  • JUKES Sparkling Pinot Noir is another sparkling wine made from the skins of Pinot Noir berries and mixed with subtle layers of other fruits to make a deliciously refreshing drink.

Three Spirit-Blurred Vines

Three Spirits like to focus on the art of alchemy. That means rather than focus on what has been taken out of a drink, they like to celebrate the ingredients that have been put in.

Their entire range of drinks has been created with a collaboration between plant scientists and bartenders to maximise flavour, and potency and enable them to use active ingredients in each drink.

Blurred Vines are award-winning alcohol-free wines created by Three Spirits. Both of the non-alcoholic wines in this collection contain active ingredients, are low in sugar, vegan, and gluten-free and use ethically sourced ingredients.

They offer two different alcohol-free wines: Sharp and Spark. Sharp is described as a drink that is crisp, bright and elegant with a light spritz. This drink has active ingredients that help you feel focused and invigorated, allowing your brain to really flow.

Spark, on the other hand, is lively, pink and full of fizz. This is described as the party-starting wine and is packed with natural caffeine to help stimulate your body to feel a high of natural euphoria but without the worry of a horrible hangover!
