5 Things You Can Do On A Sunday Morning Instead Of Being Hungover

Embracing an alcohol-free lifestyle gives you so much more time. So here are five things to do instead of being hungover on a Sunday!

One of the things that happen when you start mindful drinking or adopt an alcohol-free lifestyle is that you often find that you have a lot more time to do things. You no longer spend full days in bed with a hangover, getting out of bed in the morning is easier, and you don’t have to tend to that blasted alcohol-induced headache regularly.

One time of day a lot of drinkers don’t get to experience very often is Sunday morning. So what can you do with your newly found Sunday morning? Well here are some of our favourite things to do on a Sunday morning instead of being hungover.

1. Go For An Early Morning Workout

What feels better than starting your day with an early morning workout or a run? Wake up in the morning, hop out of bed and head out for a run, to the gym or for a sports class. You will get your body moving, get the blood flowing and create so many endorphins before you’d ever have got out of bed when you were a drinker.

What’s more? You can spend the rest of the day feeling good about yourself for getting active and making the most of your time. You can’t deny that it feels good knowing you’ve done a good workout.

2. Go Out For Breakfast Or Brunch

Gone are the days of feeling too sick to eat anything the morning after a big night. Sunday mornings are the perfect time to go out for a delicious breakfast or brunch. You can go for a good ol’ English classic and enjoy a fry-up, or maybe you want to embrace the millennial lifestyle and enjoy some avocado toast.

Whatever you choose to eat nothing beats going for brunch or breakfast with your family and friends, sipping coffee, eating delicious food and just enjoying some relaxing and quiet weekend time.

3. Have A Lazy Morning And Breakfast In Bed

No one said you have to get out of bed early to make the most of a hangover-free Sunday morning. In fact, for a truly relaxing feeling, why not enjoy choosing to stay in bed? Have a lazy morning, read a book, or demand that your family or significant other makes you breakfast in bed.

You can sit back and enjoy the luxurious feeling of having nothing to do, being somewhere comfy and cosy and feeling good about it.

4. Go For A Day Out

The UK is a beautiful country with stunning National Parks and countryside, beautiful stately houses, villages and towns, as well as interesting and bustling cities. So why not make the most of your newfound time and start exploring the area that you live in?

Where you once might’ve spent your Sunday feeling rubbish and unable to leave the house, you can now get up bright and early and start exploring the country you live in. Why not buy a National Trust membership with the money that you would’ve once spent on alcohol or your club entrance fees? You could even put this money aside each week and have a lovely day out.

5. Get Your Pesky Work Done Before Having A Nice Day

It's all very idealistic to feel like you have nothing to do on a Sunday, but we all know that in reality, most people don’t leave work behind at the weekends.

We’ve all had those days where you wake up feeling awful after a heavy night and procrastinate your work until the evening, waste an entire day and then stress finish your work really quickly. By embracing the alcohol-free lifestyle you no longer need to spend the day feeling stressed but too hungover to work all day. You now get the chance to get your work done and out of the way in the morning, to free up the rest of the day to do something nice.
